Released in 1982 – excellent choice for new gardens. Aptly named, Jupiter is fiery red with gold stripes. Most fruits are conical in shape and medium sized. Yields of over 20kg. per tree have been recorded on M26, compared with 9kg. per tree of Cox. Being Cox flavoured, with abundant cropping of juicy ‘no waste’ size fruits. Keeping in store as long as Cox, this is another winner. Our research boys really know how to produce the goods. Good pollinators are Greensleeves, Golden Delicious, Discovery, Gala and Spartan – but not Cox’s Orange Pippin.
