‘Medana’ indicates this is to date the only virus-free tayberry available. The tayberry is a cross between blackberry ‘Aurora’ (from Oregon, U.S.A.) and a Tatraploid raspberry. The tayberry resembles the loganberry, but fruits earlier. Cropping is in class of LY 59 and has in fact doubled LY 654. Produced by Scottish Horticultural Research Institute. We now have a ‘Medana’ Licence and mothers to produce.
