Mid-early – makes prize-winning wine. Does excellent on prime sites. Suitable for dessert. Fruit is small to medium, pale greenish white, sweet and very juicy. Suitable for outside use. The most widely planted variety in the U.K. Originated in Switzerland, hence its hardness.
