3.ALLINGTON PIPPIN

Originally known as South Lincolnshire Pippin. Large pale greenish yellow with a little red. Sharp but agreeable flavour. Grows to a tree with slender arching branches. Self-fertile. Very popular. As large as Charles Ross. Extremely prolific; excellent flavour, although sharp to some palates. Could be considered dual purpose. King of the Pippins x Cox's Orange Pippin. Sometimes used in ciders for extra flavour.
