Deacon's Nursery: Fruit Trees & Bushes
Raised by J.I.Institute from a Malus Floribunda cross x a cross of Merton Worcester. Trees consequently have arching branches, due to its parentage. Gavin's main attribute is its resistance to many nasties, i.e. apple scab and mildew. Fruit is oblong to round, with red flush on greenish base. Crisp and juicy. Ready around mid-September. Ideal for S.W. UK (where the wet produces scab problems)
