Raised in Germany during 1930s by Prof. M.Schmidt, the former Kaiser Wilhelm Institute. It is a Dr. Oldenburg cross with Cox's Orange. Richly aromatic and heavily flavoured. Crisp and juicy. Ripening earlier than Cox.
