Deacon's Nursery: Fruit Trees & Bushes
(also known as 'Princess Pippin', 'Prince's Pippin', 'Shropshire Pippin', 'Golden Winter Pearmain' and 'Hampshire Yellow'). Due to requests, have added this cultivar - a Sturmer x Ribston Pippin, introduced by Kingsacre Nursery in 1899. The fruit is yellowy orange with deep browny red flush and covered with netted russet. Highly aromatic almond-like flavour. Tree is moderate, upright growth, cropping very heavily. Lady Sudeley, Laxton's Superb, Ellison's Orange and others in group 3 would be suitable pollinators. Mentioned in 1859 in 'Gardeners Assistant'.
